North Branch sweeps through Goodrich volleyball tourney

GOODRICH, Michigan — North Branch went 7-0 at the Goodrich Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday, beating Lake Orion 25-15, 25-12 in the final for its fourth tourney title of the season.
The Broncos (38-2-2), ranked second in Class B, have won 23 matches in a row.
North Branch beat Armada 21-7, 21-10, Waterford Mott 21-7, 21-6 and Haslett 21-10, 21-9 in pool play, then topped St. Johns 25-20, 25-13, Lapeer West 25-12, 25-19 and Goodrich 25-14, 25-18 to reach the final.
Jordan Fish had 100 assists, 27 kills, 25 digs and 11 aces; Katie Owens 46 kills and 21 digs; Catherine Brusie 79 digs and 11 aces; Kara Stuewer 32 kills, 38 digs and six aces; Danika Racknor 28 kills, 32 digs and four aces and Hailey Smillie 27 digs.
