Tuesday Hardcourt Scores

Reese 70 Linden 43 - The Lady Rockets got the season started on the right foot with a win over Linden. Reese was led by 2008-2009 All-Thumb player Amber Gotham's 16 points and eight assists. Jade Ackerman also contributed 12 points. Reese will play Harbor Beach on Friday night in the opener for the Pirates.

Vassar 57 Millington 20 - Vassar picked up the season opening victory over their former conference foe on Tuesday. Hilary MacKay scored a game-high 17 points, while Alyssa Muntz scored 11 points. Emily Hauger added 10 rebounds. Rachel Lawe scored a team-high five points for the Lady Cardinals.

Bullock Creek 50 Frankenmuth 39 - Kelsey Ritter led the Lady Eagles with 13 points in their opening season loss.

Arenac-Eastern 58 Akron-Fairgrove 10

Ubly 50 Cass City 42
- Cass City dropped their opener to Greater Thumb crossover rival Ubly, but they had solid games from both McKensie Parrish and Logan Rowell. Parrish scored 15 points and Rowell 13 points.

Marlette 49 USA 46 - Marlette defeated the Lady Patriots on opening night. Chelsey Ewald led USA with 14 points.

North Branch 41 Imlay City 40 - North Branch used a strong defensive second quarter and held on at the end to beat Imlay City. The Lady Bronco defense held Imlay City to a five point second quarter. North Branch was led by Samantha Waterman's 12 points and four steals. Rayenne Kaiser contributed seven points and six steals, as Morgan Vauter had seven points, five rebounds and three steals.
