Holy Cow is it Cold, Thursday Night Basketball

In boys action tonight, Peck defeated Akron-Fairgrove by a score of 51-25. Nick Avicla of Akron-Fairgrove contributed nine points in the loss. The Vikings drop to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the NCTL-North. Peck improves to 5-3 and 4-2 in the NCTL-South.

Cass City dropped their league opener to Laker High by a score of 54-47. The Red Hawks Chris Summersett scored 14 points, Jestin Ketterer scored 10 in the loss. With the loss, Cass City's record to 4-3 overall. Laker High improved to 3-2 overall.

Vassar defeated Bad Axe in their Greater Thumb-West opener by a score of 56-34. Ryan Amend led the way for the Vulcans with 14 points, while Jeremy Schiefer contributed 12 points. Vassar's win improves their record to 5-1, while Bad Axe falls to 2-4.

Reese used a 27-19 fourth quarter run to get by Sandusky by a score of 56-51. Josh Pickell led the way with a game-high 21 points, including 8-8 from the free-throw line. The Rockets Greg Westerman also contributed 11 points. Reese improves to 5-0, and Sandusky falls to 0-6.

Owendale-Gagetown defeated Dryden 68-55. The Bulldogs we led by Devin Prich's 18 points, Brent Reil's 15 points, and Nick Zaleski's 14 points. Owendale-Gagetown improves to 5-1 overall and 5-1 in the NCTL-North. Dryden falls to 1-5 overall and 1-5 in the NCTL-South.

Kinde-North Huron defeated Kingston by a score of 72-36. Jordan Pennington had 9 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. The loss drops the Cardinals to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in the NCTL-South. The Warriors improve to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the NCTL-North.

Ubly defeated Mayville 65-32 in each one's Greater Thuumb East opener. Josh Franks had 9 points and 5 rebounds in the loss. With the loss, the Wildcat's record drops to 0-6, while Ubly improves to 6-1.
