In boys action, Owendale-Gagetown defeated Port Hope 71-44. Nick Zaleski scored a game-high 18 points for the Bulldogs, while Ryan Francis and Devin Prich contributed 13 and 12 points respectively. Owendale-Gagetown improves to 4-1 in the NCTL-North just 1 1/2 games behind Kinde-North Huron. Port Hope drops to 1-5 overall and in the NCTL-North.
In other NCTL-North action, Kinde-North Huron defeated Akron-Fairgrove by a score of 72-51. Trevor Winnie scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds, while Matt Chorba scored 10 points in the losing cause. Kinde-North Huron improves to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the league, while Akron-Fairgrove falls to 0-5 and 0-4 in league play.
Peck defeated Kingston 49-40. Jordan Pennington of the Cardinals earned a double-double with a game-high 19 points and 14 rebounds, while teammate Joel Straul contributed with 11 points. Kingston drops to 4-2 in the NCTL-South and 4-4 overall. The Cardinals are tied with CPS at the top of the league, and each hold a 1/2 game lead over Peck and Memphis. The Pirates improve to 3-2 in the league and 4-2 overall.
In girls action, Millington lost a non-league game at home to Bay City John Glenn by a score of 52-48. Millington's Kayla Doshier scored 25 points in the defeat increasing her season point-per-game average to an even 21.0. Doshier also had 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
