Friday Night Action in Tuscola County

In the Mix 92.1 Game of the Week, the USA boys held on in the fourth quarter, despite shooting just 3-11 at the charity stripe in the fourth, for a 53-50 victory against Reese. Brandon Bitzer led USA by scoring all 17 of his points in the second half. Jake Holland added 12, while Josh Lakie contributed 10 off the bench. Josh Pickell led Reese with 15 points, while Mike Herbolsheimer added 11. Both teams are now 1-1 in the GTC-West.

North Branch defeated Millington 53-40. Deane Baker and Justin Calvert each scored 12 in the win for the Broncos. Tyler Reinert had 14 for the Cardinals while Matt Berlin contributed 10. With the win, North Branch evens their record at 4-4 and 2-2 in the TVC-East. Millington drops to 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the league.

In a low scoring contest, Cass City picked up their first league win with a 38-33 victory over Vassar. Chris Summersett led Cass City with 19 points. The win improves Cass City's record to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the GTC-West. Vassar drops to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the West.

Mayville picked up their first win of the year with a 47-43 victory over Deckerville. Corey Travis scored 23 points for the Wildcats. Mayville improves to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the GTC-East.

Frankenmuth ended Caro's four game winning streak with at 63-56 win. Tyler Gray scored 24 points for the Eagles. R.J. Fritz led the Tigers with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Jared Vinson contributed 16. Frankenmuth improves to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the TVC-East. The loss drops Caro to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the East.

In girls action, Samantha Radabaugh scored 13 in Owendale-Gagetown's 46-34 loss to Memphis. The Bulldogs drop to 1-8 overall and 1-8 in the NCTL-North.

Dryden defeated Akron-Fairgrove 46-28. The loss keeps the Vikings winless at 0-10 and 0-9 in the NCTL-North.

Millington held on to defeat North Branch 53-51. Kayla Doshier led the Cardinals with 23 points. Doshier is now averaging 21.3 points per game on the season. The win improves the Lady Cards record to 6-4 overall and all alone in third place in the TVC-East with a 4-2 mark. The loss drops the Broncos to 5-5 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Kingston had it lowest output of the year in their 35-26 loss to Caseville. Whitney Fox led the Lady Cards with 10 points. Kingston drops to 6-5 overall and 6-4 in the NCTL-South which is good for third place.

Frankenmuth defeated Caro 57-34. Kelsey Ritter led the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Lydia Koehler led the Lady Tigers with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Frankenmuth site atop the TVC-East with a perfect mark of 6-0 and 8-3 overall. The loss drops Caro to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the league.
