All-Lady Wednesday Night


Vassar 49 - Mayville 43 - The Lady Vulcans used a 15-8 run the fourth quarter to pick up the non-leauge victory. Emily Araynos led the way with 20 points and nine steals for Vassar. Hilary MacKay scored 13 points, while Kayla Verbeek added six points and 12 rebounds for the victors. Chelsea Roehl scrored 15 points and Tessa Buhl added 13 for Mayville. Vassar improves to 5-1 overall as they head to #6 Reese on Friday night to open GTC-West play, which will be the Mix 92.1 Game of the Week. The loss drops Mayville to 4-3 as they prepare to host #1 Sandusky on Friday night in their GTC-East opener.


#1 Sandusky 62 - Marlette 36 - Amara Wilson led the Lady Red Raiders with 13 points as they dropped their league opener. The loss drops Marlette to 5-4 on the year.


#6 Reese 54 - All Saints 34 - The Lady Rockets picked up their first league victory of the season. Amber Gotham led the way with 15 points and six assists. Sarah Spiekerman also contributed 10 points and eight rebounds. Reese improved to 5-0, as they get ready to host Vassar on Friday night.


USA 46 - Cass City 37 - In the GTC-West opener for both teams, USA's Brittany Gruehn and Miranda Fuerst each had a team-high 12 points. Chelsey Ewald was also in double figures with 11 points. Cass City's Megan led all scorers with 15 points, while Logan Rowell scored 11 points. USA improves to 2-4 on the year, while Cass City stays winless at 0-7.


Imlay City 41 - Millington 28 - The Lady Cardinals scoring woes continue as they drop to 2-5 on the season. Chelsey Parker led the way with seven points and eight rebounds.
