Playoffs

Okay, my first post here I am going to go through each boy's district and predict a winner. I hope everyone will pick their winner as well, and we will see how close we come in March. Will try to work on girl's districts later in the week.

District 57-B - Millington
Caro
Cros-Lex
Millington
North Branch
Vassar
Yale

Millington is having the best year of anyone is this district. Unless something drastic happens they should win this district.

District 58-B - Essexville-Garber
Bangor John Glenn
Bridgeport
Essexville-Garber
Frankenmuth
Freeland
Pinconning

Frankenmuth is having a memorable season, but they should get a good push from Bridgeport who is improving with every game.

District 81-C - Marlette
Brown City
Bentley
Dryden
Memphis
Marlette
Sandusky

Brown City is the best team in this district even though Bentley is having a good year. Bentley though was blown out by both Beecher and Goodrich.

District 89-C - Carrollton
Carrollton
Mayville
Reese
Buena Vista
Nouvel
Valley Lutheran

I hesitate to pick Reese here because I believe this may be a very top heavy district with Reese, Buena Vista and Nouvel. Yes, Buena Vista is only 3-5, but the only school similar in size that they have lost to is Frankenmuth. They may be a beast in sheep's clothing. Similarly, Nouvel is an odd team to figure out as well. They have some big wins against Saginaw Valley schools, but turn around an lose against Bridgeport and Hemlock. This should be the best district.

District 90-C - USA
Bad Axe
Cass City
Laker
Harbor Beach
Ubly
USA

Here is my upset pick. Harbor Beach will be looking for revenge against USA. USA has two games remaining versus Reese and a game against Buena Vista also. Birch Run was a big win for them, but they could be looking at a 3 lose season heading into the playoffs.

District 112-D - Peck
CPS
Deckerville
Kimball New Life
Kingston
Cardinal Mooney
Peck

This district reminds a lot of the Millington one. Home team is having a much better season than anyone else in the district. Peck should bring home the crown.

District 113-D - Port Hope
Akron-Fairgrove
Bay City All Saints
Caseville
Kinde-North Huron
Owendale-Gagetown
Port Hope

All Saints should not have a problem with this district at all. They play a better schedule than the rest of the field, and also are playing everyone from a non-competitive NCTL-North division.

Well, call me an idiot and disagree with me, but let me hear your reasons for different picks.

The only one I would disagree with is the USA district. If it were anywhere else, I would tend to agree, but I just don't see any of these teams being able to beat USA on its homecourt during the post-season.
I did not really think so either, but I needed an upset pick

Caro
Cros-Lex
Millington
North Branch
Vassar

Millington is the best team here, it's their's to lose.

District 58-B - Essexville-Garber
Bangor John Glenn
Bridgeport
Essexville-Garber
Frankenmuth
Freeland
Pinconning

Depending on the brackets, but it should be Muth/BPort in the finals

District 81-C - Marlette
Brown City
Bentley
Dryden
Memphis
Marlette
Sandusky

Donovan Ogbogh and AJ Burton (not Bently, LOL) will make this an easy pick

District 89-C - Carrollton
Carrollton
Mayville
Reese
Buena Vista
Nouvel
Valley Lutheran

I sooo want to take Reese, but this is such a tough district. If Reese has to play NCC in the first round, I will petition the MHSAA for shenanigans!

District 90-C - USA
Bad Axe
Cass City
Laker
Harbor Beach
Ubly
USA

If USA beats Reese in either game this season, I will take them...for now, a coin flip between the Eastern schools...heads up 7UP goes to Ubly.

District 112-D - Peck
CPS
Deckerville
Kimball New Life
Kingston
Cardinal Mooney
Peck

Wow Peck is good with their new coach. Easy pick.

District 113-D - Port Hope
Akron-Fairgrove
Bay City All Saints
Caseville
Kinde-North Huron
Owendale-Gagetown
Port Hope

Owen-Gage is starting to click and should finish with an above .500 record by season's end. All Saints though, is the team to beat because they compete in the GTW. If these two hook up in the final, it should be a doozy.
