Boys Districts Day 1

In North Branch, Vassar defeated Yale 56-49. Zach Germain led the Vulcans with 14 points, while Keif Vickers and Ryan Amend each scored 11 points. Vassar moves to the semi-final of District Number 57 to play Millington on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Millington received a bye in the first round.

North Branch beat Caro 53-47. Justin Calvert led the Broncos with 12 points, while Luc Bonner (12) and Deane Baker (10) contributed to the win as well. R.J. Fritz led the Tigers with a game-high 17 points, while Jared Vinson scored 13 points. North Branch advances to play Croswell-Lexington on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Caro finishes with a 10-11 record in their first season under Ty Stevenson.

In Bay City, Frankenmuth beat host Bangor John Glenn 50-34. Tyler Gray led Frankenmuth with 21 points, while Matt Cramer scored 19. The Eagles advance to play Bridgeport on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

In Sandusky, Marlette defeated New Haven 64-53. The Red Raiders will move on to play Burton Bentley on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Burton Bentley defeated Dryden 72-18 to advance to semi-final action.

In Reese, the host Rockets upended Mayville 62-46. Reese was led by Mike Herbolsheimer's 18 points, while Josh Pickell scored 11 and Morgan Walter had 10. The Wildcats were led by Josh Franks 12 and William Henderson's 11. Reese advances to play the Knights of Saginaw Buena Vista on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Mayville finishes the season with a 3-18 record.

In Cass City, the host beat Laker High 56-46. Chris Summersett has 22 points, while Jeff Mulrath scored 12. Cass City will play Bad Axe on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

At Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School, Kingston beat the host CPS 55-51. The Cardinals advance to semi-final play on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against New Haven Merritt.

In Akron, the host Vikings picked a great time for their second victory of the season as they defeated Caseville 55-37. Josh Repkie led the Vikings with 31 points, while Austin Rodriguez scored 10 points. Akron-Fairgrove advances to play undefeated and #4 ranked Kinde-North Huron on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Bay City All Saints beat Owendale-Gagetown 79-39. Brent Reil had 14 points to lead the Bulldogs as Devin Prich had 13.
