In a close call, the Freak Nasty Player of the Week is Mayville's Aaron Mercer. Aaron just edges out Caro's Mike Daniel. Mercer ran for 217 yards scored three touchdowns and passed for 121 yards while finding two receivers in the end-zone in the Wildcats close loss to Marlette.

Something has to be said for putting up numbers in a winning effort. Who cares if you rack up yardage in a loss. For my vote (not that it counts)...I have to go with Caro's Mike Daniel. 3TD's and 205 rushing yards on 33 carries in a 26-12 win over Vassar. Those are workhorse type of numbers.

35 tackles in one game by two players is quite an acheivement. I hope the stats. takers at their respective schools take their job seriously. Does this figure seem to be within reason of a short highschool game?
If I remember correctly oldtimer I think I counted about 7 or 8 different times last year when I saw someone with 20 or more tackles in a game. I also hope the stat takers take the job seriously.
