VanWormer takes over in Frankenmuth
The following is a press release sent out by Frankenmuth High School Principal JoLynn Clark:
Frankenmuth High School is proud to announce the hiring of Timothy VanWormer as the Eagles’ Head Varsity Football Coach. Tim was hired to teach at FHS in the fall of 2008, and he assumed an assistant coaching position on the Varsity football team last year. Prior to coming to FHS, Tim spent four years teaching and coaching at Athens High School. His teams saw great successes and increased participation as he led a 1-8 team his first year to a near-playoff record of 5-4 his last year there. Tim says the success of those teams was evident in the confidence that grew with the players as they improved. Prior to his time at Athens, Tim worked as a chemist/lab technician and coached for 10 years at Comstock at various levels: his first year as the Head Freshman Coach, second year as Head JV Coach, and eight years as Varsity Offensive Coordinator. During that time, Tim found his passion in teaching, and he pursued a teaching degree from Olivet in chemistry and social studies. This year, Tim will teach chemistry at FHS, and he looks forward to leading the Varsity Eagles and upholding the great tradition that is Frankenmuth Football. Come see Tim and the Varsity Eagles in action at their home opener as they take on the Swan Valley Vikings on August 27 at 7:00 pm.
- Hopefully, more on this to come in Wednesday's edition of the Tuscola County Advertiser
