Hot Dog it is Getting Warm Tuesday

A busy night in girl's action. We will start with the Tri-Valley. North Branch bounced back from a 27 point defeat last week, to beat Essexville-Garber 47-44. Kayla Snoblen and Margan Vauter eached scored nine points apiece for the Broncos. North Branch is now 6-10 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

Frankenmuth lost it's grip on first place by losing to Birch Run 37-31. The loss moves the Eagles into a tie for first place on top of the TVC-East with the Panthers at 7-1. Frankenmuth is 9-6 overall.

Millington hung to to defeat Caro 45-42. Kayla Doshier scored 13 points for the Cardinals, while Rachel Lawe added 10. Amanda Ellis scored a game-high 17 points for the Tigers, while Lydia Koehler added 11. The win improves Millington to 7-8 overall and 5-4 in league play. Caro now has a 3-13 record and are 2-7 in the league.

In Greater Thumb play, number ten Reese beat Bad Axe 62-43. Jade Ackerman had 13 points, six rebounds, and five steals for the Rockets. Amber Gotham had 10 points and seven assists in the victory. Reese improves to 14-1 overall and a perfect 9-0 in league play.

Aleigh Kappen scored nine points for Cass City as they lost to Bay City All Saints 45-31. The Red Hawks are now 4-10 and 2-6 in the GTC-West.

USA used a balanced scoring attack to beat Vassar 52-46. Brittany Gruehn, Dani Gremel, and Estey Ruppal each scored 11 points in the win. Jillian Williamson also had 10 points for the Patriots. Kayla Verbeek scored a game-high 20 for the Vulcans. USA moves to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the GTC-West. Vassar falls to 8-7 and 3-5 in league play.

Brown City beat Mayville 37-34. BriAnn Summersett led the charge for the Lady Wildcats with 11 points. The loss drops Mayville to 5-11 overall and 2-6 in the GTC-East.

Marlette earned their second victory in the GTC-East by defeating Deckerville 56-46. Jenna Thompson led the way with 16 points, while Amara Wilson added 14. The win improves the Red Raiders overall record to 5-10.

Over to the North Cental Thumb League, Kingston beat Peck 38-32. Whitney Fox led the Lady Cards with eight points and eight rebounds. The win improves Kingston's record to 9-7 overall and 9-6 in the NCTL-South.

Akron-Fairgrove fell to Kinde-North Huron 64-30. Theresa Burkey led the Vikings with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Akron-Fairgrove falls to 0-15 and 0-14 in the NCTL-North.

In boy's action, Millington is still in search of their first league win as they lost to Caro 48-43. RJ Fritz led the Tigers with 17 points. Cameron Wilson had 17 points for the Cardinals, while Tyler Rienert added 11. The win improves Caro's record to 8-7 and 4-4 in the TVC-East. The loss drops Millington to 3-11.

Tyler Gray scored a game-high 24 points, including the game-winning basket in overtime, as Frankenmuth beat Birch Run 53-52. The win improves Frankenmuth's record to 7-6 overall and 5-2 in the league.

North Branch used a big fourth-quarter to beat Essexville-Garber 46-41. Mike Keith scored 11 points to pace the Broncos. North Branch improves to 7-6 and 4-3.
